href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/10\/19\/lifestyle\/the-presidential-election-is-ruining-fall-weddings-couples-implement-booze-bans-to-prevent-political-brawls\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> placing a \u201cno-politics\u201d gag order<\/a> on the folks coming to see them walk down the aisle. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Franki Priore and her fianc\u00e9 are hoping their 200 loved ones keep all wedding chatter about love, peace and unity.  <span wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The twosome will become one just over two weeks after Nov. 5 Election Day, when the nation picks a new commander-in-chief between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris after months of mudslinging from supporters on both sides of the aisle \u2014 a face-off virtually dividing the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And no matter their guests\u2019 political persuasions, Priore told The Post, they will be welcome at the fabulous f\u00eate \u2014 if they abide by the ground rules.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether you\u2019re the farthest-right Trump supporter or the farthest-left liberal, there\u2019s a place for everybody at our wedding,\u201d the 28-year-old said. \u201cBut political views don\u2019t need to be discussed at our wedding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She hopes that tamping down on ideological topics will ensure that everyone\u2019s attention remains locked on love.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA wedding is all about uniting people,\u201d said Priore, an entrepreneur now living in Jersey City.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>These NYC-area sweeties would prefer if guests table their political debates for family gatherings during any of the upcoming holidays.  <span class=\"credit\">@KBarberPhotography<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Rather than causing a ruckus on her big day, she\u2019d prefer attendees <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/10\/29\/lifestyle\/families-will-need-time-to-heal-from-election-strife-expert\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">save their Oval Office opinions <\/a>for a less romantic occasion, like Thanksgiving.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose are conversations for holidays,\u201d she laughed. \u201cThat\u2019s when people can [argue].<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA wedding is bigger than that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But fears that the presidential election will eclipse the happiness of holy matrimonies are big, too.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Couples scheduled to say \u201cI do\u201d around Election Day are hopeful that the tie the knot are worried that the vote will trigger tumult at their weddings, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theknotww.com\/uncategorized\/the-knot-worldwide-2025-wedding-trends-to-watch-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">per The Knot\u2019s 2025 Wedding Trends report<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSimilar to broader polling trends, couples [are] divided on whether each candidate\u2019s presidency would have a positive or negative effect on their wedding plans,\u201d said the experts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe election outcome may influence how couples manage their budgets, choose vendors and even curate their guest lists.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Bourgeois tells The Post she\u2019s worried about keeping the peace at her earl November wedding since the first presidential debate this year.   <span class=\"credit\"> John Chapple for N.Y.Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Davis Bourgeois, a Nov. 9 bride, fits that bill. <\/p>\n<p>The 29-year-old has been losing sleep for the past few months, fretting that the outcome of the election will ruin her $25,000 f\u00eate. <\/p>\n<p>So, the outdoor occasion at a scenic West Coast venue \u2014 featuring lush grounds and an in-ground swimming pool \u2014 will also include several firmly stated, framed signs forewarning incomers: \u201cYou\u2019re entering a politic-free zone,\u201d and advising them to \u201cSave your political talk for Thanksgiving. Today is all about love.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a message that the belle can\u2019t seem to stress enough.  <\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n\t<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m already stressed out from planning my own wedding \u2014 this is additional stress I don\u2019t need,\u201d Bourgeois, a marketing manager from Orange County, Calif., told The Post.\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s never-wracking. I\u2019ve seen how passionate people are about their political beliefs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt gets so ugly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As even more of a safeguard, Bourgeois and fianc\u00e9 Sam, 31, a cinematographer, recently made drastic changes to their seating arrangements.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe broke up all of our tables and made them smaller based on how people are voting,\u201d she confessed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe originally wanted long tables of 12 to create a cozy family feel,\u201d added the nervous nearly-wed. \u201cBut now each table seats six to eight people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yamila and Mark McGarry, soon-to-weds who say \u201cI do\u201d on Nov. 2, a mere three days before a candidate is crowned, told The Post they have a less obvious tact. The pair has tapped a top-notch DJ and stellar live band to distract their 135 well-wishers with a good time.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re going to have a lot of dancing at our reception so there won\u2019t be much time for political chatter,\u201d said Yamila, 31, adding that McGarry, 29, plans to wow the crowd with his newly acquired Salsa moves.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The fianc\u00e9s have spent hours rearranging their seating chart to ensure that no political debates break out on their big day.  <span class=\"credit\"> John Chapple for N.Y.Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The fianc\u00e9s, both physical therapists in eastern Pennsylvania, even voted early in order to make a quick escape to Greece immediately after getting hitched Saturday \u2014 and to dodge the E-Day aftermath.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe pretty much know where each of our guests stand [politically],\u201d said McGarry.\u00a0\u201cWe just want everyone to enjoy our day with us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite all precautions, for bride-to-be Bourgeois, if a contentious conversation erupts within the small groups, she and her honey have gone so far as to designate a specific person at each table to redirect the discourse.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The soon-to-be husband and wife jokingly told guests they\u2019d knock them into the pool if conversations turn political. <span class=\"credit\"> John Chapple for N.Y.Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re even thinking about putting little fun facts on the backs of each table number,\u201d said the brunette.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She hopes the buzzy prompts \u2014 which will mostly be about <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/10\/31\/sports\/los-angeles-goes-berserk-as-city-celebrates-dodgers-win-world-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">newly crowned World Series champs the L.A.
