Amanda Toala never dreamed of having a big wedding.<\/p>\n

When the time finally came along, she and her partner Eteuati decided to elope.<\/p>\n

“We have three children, we have been together for a long time, we have a house mortgage, and having two families in different areas, it would be quite difficult to get everyone in the one spot for one day,” Ms Toala said.<\/p>\n

Amanda and Eteuati were engaged for six years before finally tying the knot earlier this month.<\/p>\n

Ms Toala said eloping sounded “perfect and simple” and all they wanted was to make their family “one”.<\/p>\n

The decision also meant they could put their money towards other things.<\/p>\n

“The cost of living these days is insane and I didn\u2019t want to spend anywhere between what, these days, a wedding is,” she said.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019d rather put that towards a home loan or a holiday.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
