Deierling is a 2004 graduate of Jackson High School who mainly works as a wedding videographer.\"\/><\/figure>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">&#8220;The biggest thing \u2014\u00a0what we want people to know \u2014\u00a0is we did all this and filmed it in our area,&#8221; Deierling said about the movie, which premieres at 6 p.m.\u00a0at the Highland Square Theatre\u00a0in Akron. &#8220;You don&#8217;t have to be from New York or L.A. (Los Angeles) to make a movie people want to see.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">&#8220;The Other Side of Darkness&#8221; is about a girl who mysteriously acquires a Jeep on her 16th birthday. The action-adventure movie\u00a0was shot on location around Northeast Ohio, including Deierling&#8217;s Jackson residence\u00a0from July to November 2020.<\/p>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_m gnt_x gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\"\/>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Some other film\u00a0locations in Ohio included\u00a0Norton, Garrettsville, as well as parts of Columbiana and Jefferson counties, said Deierling. The movie&#8217;s budget was less than $250,000. He ventured back\u00a0to the Buckeye State\u00a0in 2008.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Deierling&#8217;s producing partner on\u00a0&#8220;The Other Side of Darkness&#8221; is Vinny Sisson, 33, who also moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film. He came back to Ohio after 10 years due to cost-of-living issues.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"gnt_em gnt_em_img gnt_em_img__inset\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" class=\"gnt_em_img_i\" style=\"height:433px\" data-g-r=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/espacestudio.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/1652450189_807_Filmmakers-Adam-Deierling-Vinnie-Sisson-debut-new-film.jpg?w=1300&#038;ssl=1\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Vinny Sisson, 33, of Warren, is a producer of &quot;The Other Side of Darkness,&quot; which was filmed in myriad parts of Northeast Ohio.\"\/><\/figure>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Sisson said he and Deierling just missed each other in Hollywood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\"><strong class=\"gnt_ar_b_al\">More:<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.indeonline.com\/story\/news\/2021\/07\/14\/greatness-cafe-opens-inside-massillon-museum-saturday\/7942466002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|e|spike click:18|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">New Greatness Cafe to open this weekend in Massillon Museum lobby<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Their paths didn&#8217;t cross until 2017, when Sisson and\u00a0Deierling teamed up in Northeast Ohio\u00a0to work on wedding videography gigs and produce commercials. The key unlocks a storage unit, where her birthday gift is a Jeep. She&#8217;s motivated to find out where the vehicle came from.
