\n A NUMBER of Bradford<\/a> businesses were recognised for \u2018their excellent services to the British Asian wedding industry’ at a prestigious awards ceremony last night.\n<\/p>\n

\n Business<\/a> owners from across the country gathered at\u00a0The Holiday Inn hotel, Bolton, to celebrate Britain’s\u00a0Asian Wedding venues, where they were recognised and awarded for their \u2018gold standard of work in the British Asian Wedding industry.\n<\/p>\n

\n But despite being a nationwide event, Bradford-based businesses made up a large chunk of the nominees\u00a0with 13 of our own being selected as finalists.\n<\/p>\n

\n Raj Parmar who owns Regency Hall, on East Parade, spoke of his \u201cshock\u201d when it was announced that he had won the Banqueting\u00a0Suite of the Year award.\n<\/p>\n

\n He said: \u201cI just couldn\u2019t believe it when they announced my name. I\u2019m just really grateful.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cComparatively to other venues I\u2019m the new kid on the block, and to be recognised for the hard work and effort is completely humbling and I\u2019m completely honoured.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cIt\u2019s got a unique character, it used to be a church, it\u2019s a grade II listed building and we\u2019ve kept a lot of its original features. I know a lot of Bradford venues have their charm but I think Regency Hall stands in its own category and I think that\u2019s probably why we won.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n Raj went on to explain how he has only been running as a fully functioning business for around two-and-a-half years due to Covid, but he is already in the process of expanding the venue and has recently acquired planning permission for a disused cinema<\/a> next door.\n<\/p>\n

\n Other venues such as The Great Victoria Hotel also struck success at the prestigious ceremony.\n<\/p>\n
