From thrifted dresses to four-legged ring-bearers, weddings in 2022 are set to follow some exciting trends.<\/span><\/p>\n

A new study by financial comparison company <\/span>money.co.uk<\/span><\/a> has unveiled some of the most popular fads appealing to brides and grooms, and it looks like the second-hand dress movement is making waves.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to money.co.uk, Google searches for renting bridesmaid dresses have increased by 181 per cent since May last year, while searches for renting wedding dresses increased by 89 per cent.<\/span><\/p>\n

On top of this, a new multi-coloured approach to decor and dress themes is catching on, with searches for brightly-coloured flowers, wedding decorations or colourful attire and dress themes increasing by 200 per cent.<\/span><\/p>\n

Clearly, modern couples are looking to ditch the usual whites, blacks and beiges and swap for something a little bolder.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

But the quirkiest of all is the rise in searches for ‘pets at weddings’.<\/span><\/p>\n

Searches increased by 200 per cent compared to last year’s Google ratings, and according to money.co.uk, they’re not only referring to your usual four-legged doggy friends.<\/span><\/p>\n

Searches have gone so far as to include llamas in the mix, with searches for ‘llama weddings’ increasing by 89 per cent.<\/span><\/p>\n

We’ve already seen how celebrities have adopted the pet wedding trend, with Aussie tennis stars Luke Saville and <\/span>Daria Gavrilova<\/span><\/a> <\/span>suiting up their gorgeous mini dachshund ‘Tofu’ as ring bearer<\/span><\/a> for their nuptials in December last year.<\/span><\/p>\n

More recently, <\/span>Australia’s DJ Tigerlily and now-husband Scott Lawson<\/span><\/a> brought their fur baby into the mix during their wedding in March this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

The pair decided to bestow their beloved pup ‘Lentils’ (aka Lenny) with the task of ring bearer. Watch the adorable video above.<\/span><\/p>\n

The DJ also sweetly shared the moment<\/span><\/a> she revealed her bridal look to her pooch on Instagram.<\/span><\/p>\n

Posting on Instagram, the DJ wrote: “Most brides do a first look with their partner, family or bridal party. However, it didn’t make sense for me to do this with anyone but my fur baby.”<\/span><\/p>\n

As well as getting pets involved, money.co.uk notes a more environmental approach to ceremonies this year, with searches for in-season flowers and sustainable wedding venues also on the rise.<\/span><\/p>\n

Naturally, rented dresses also fall into this category, and reveal a more eco-conscious mindset among brides and grooms this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other rising trends include increased searches for ‘moissanite engagement rings’, which are a more carbon-friendly option compared to traditional diamonds.<\/span><\/p>\n
