Nikki Truehart, whose family has been in the wedding industry for over 20 years, opened Truehart Wedding Chapel in March 2022.<\/p>\n

Located at 2800 Limekiln Pike #2 in Glenside, the chapel hosts \u2018micro-weddings\u2019\u2014small ceremonies with 25 or fewer guests. <\/p>\n

\u201cMicroweddings became popular during the pandemic when people couldn\u2019t do large ceremonies. They\u2019re relatively new in the industry,\u201d Nikki said. <\/p>\n

Pre-COVID, the average American\u00a0couple spent\u00a0over $30,000 on their wedding plans. Enter the micro-wedding: An intimate affair that\u2019s friendlier than an elopement and significantly less stressful than planning an extravaganza for 250 guests.<\/p>\n

Nikki believes the low-cost trend is here to stay.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe converted an existing warehouse into our main wedding chapel, and the existing office space was converted into a place for gatherings and photos,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Aside from ceremonies, Truehart Wedding Chapel takes care of the paperwork involved with destination weddings and civil ceremonies. They also offer photo backdrops in the auxiliary space, a feature which Nikki says most chapels don\u2019t have.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re a modern twist on a wedding chapel. This isn\u2019t your grandmother\u2019s chapel,\u201d she said. \u201cPeople seem to appreciate that about us.\u201d<\/p>\n

A resident of Philadelphia, Nikki came across the building as she was looking to buy a home in the Glenside area. <\/p>\n

\u201cI was looking to buy a home, and ended up leasing a building instead,\u201d she said. \u201cNow that that\u2019s out of the way, I can start house-hunting in Glenside again.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve had great reviews for our services so far. Everything\u2019s going well, and everyone\u2019s been welcoming and supportive,\u201d Nikki said. \u201cI\u2019ve always loved the old school charm of Glenside and thought this business would be a nice addition.\u201d<\/p>\n
