A woman has opened up about how her bride-to-be was left ‘raging’ when she changed their wedding venue to accommodate her disabled daughter.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Now this is a situation that wouldn’t be wished on anyone’s worst enemy – but it just so happened to involve this woman and the supposed love of her life<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Taking to none other than Reddit’s infamous Am I The A**hole thread<\/a>, the 33-year-old woman asked the online community if she was the a**hole for ‘changing my wedding venue to better accommodate my daughter?’<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

She explained how five months ago, her 14-year-old daughter<\/a> from a previous relationship was hit by a drunk driver, resulting in paralysis<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

“By this time, my fianc\u00e9 (35f) (who has a great relationship with my daughter who i\u2019ll call Olive) and I were already engaged and had put a deposit down for a beautiful castle wedding venue, my fianc\u00e9s dream venue,” she explained.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

“But, the place the ceremony would be held is up 3 flights of stairs, and it has no lift. obviously not suitable for a paraplegic.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The poster explained how after consideration, Olive decided she wanted to come to the wedding<\/a> and that the couple were both ‘happy with changing the venue’, with a ‘nice one’ being eyed up.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“I looked online to see the availability of the venue, and there was only one date available this year, and it\u2019s a week after when the original wedding would have been,” she said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

“So, I booked it, knowing my fianc\u00e9 would be ok as we had already discussed it.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But it turns out things weren’t okay… at all.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

“But when she got home and I told her, she blew up, saying she no longer wanted it there and the things we had brought wouldn\u2019t fit (bs, we had chosen it all carefully, and we last conversed about it last week).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

“I told her it was done now, the payment was made, and that Olive would have been incredibly sad if she missed her mum\u2019s wedding, she views my fianc\u00e9 as her mum too.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But apparently, the furious bride wouldn\u2019t have it, saying the poster ‘ruined her childhood dream and Olive could watch the wedding in zoom’. Ouch.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The mum stuck to her guns though, saying: “I told her no way in hell, she has been through months of absolute hell, I\u2019m not keeping her from coming to a day I know means so much to her.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Well, Redditors were stunned by the bride-to-be’s behaviour, with one writing: “You need to seriously consider if this is the person you want as your wife and mother of your child.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

“She was willing to exclude your daughter physically because her disability is an inconvenience to her wants… that’s not very parent like and a huge red flag for the future.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And another said: “My ‘dream wedding’ could never not include my daughter. If I’m marrying someone with kids, I’m treating them just like my kids.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Well, in an update, the poster announced that she and her fianc\u00e9e ended up splitting up – and seeing as the venue was paid for, she’ll be throwing a party for Olive instead. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Sounds like a plan to us!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
