There\u2019s a common thread that runs through most weddings. Beyond your something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, most couples\u2019 special day comes with a side of earth-shattering levels of stress. The micro-wedding and elopement trend is the antithesis of all this, aiming to keep things small, fun and focused on the couple. <\/p>\n
That\u2019s the goal of Wham Bam Thankyou Sam, the latest venture from Amey Rosenthal and Kady Capewell. Rosenthal and Capewell didn\u2019t have to look far for inspiration. \u201c[Co-founder] Kady and Sam [an established celebrant and the venue\u2019s namesake] actually eloped in Vegas. They got married at the Neon Graveyard<\/a>, which was where our inspiration came from,\u201d Rosenthal told Broadsheet<\/em>.<\/p>\n The goal of Wham Bam Thankyou Sam is to make weddings as simple as possible. \u201cThere\u2019s other things in life that are meant to be complicated,\u201d Rosenthal tells Broadsheet<\/em>, \u201cbut just cementing your love for one another should be a fairly easy process instead of all the rigmarole that we add into it nowadays.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The 45-square-foot Windsor venue can host up to 12 guests for ceremonies. Their packages start at $1900 for a 30-minute ceremony with a celebrant, legal paperwork, vow cards and a confetti cannon. Their mid- and top-tier packages include longer venue hire and added extras including a loaded bar cart, canapes and charcuterie, invitations, a personalised photobooth, an At the Beep<\/a> personalised voice recording and a bridal bouquet. Additional extras such as vintage-look Hansel and Gretel<\/a> cakes, Vegas-themed invitations and treats for pets can be added to any package. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Rosenthal acknowledges the affordability of their packages is a major selling point. Their ideal clientele is \u201ccouples that have priorities elsewhere but still want something fun and unique.\u201d She adds that more and more couples are opting to put the tens of thousands of dollars they would usually spend on a wedding and towards a house deposit, future savings or an extended honeymoon.<\/p>\n The Vegas theme is locked in until March 2024, when Elvis leaves the building to be replaced with a new theme. \u201cI\u2019m thinking soft romantic,\u201d Rosenthal hints.<\/p>\n Wham Bam Thankyou Sam<\/strong> whambamthankyousam.com.au<\/a>
