Valentine&#039;s pop-up weddings fundraiser in Nyack\" data-g-r=\"nav_mo\" data-g-tn=\"pgcss\" data-g-mtn=\"pg72514935007\" data-g-moh=\"hpgm\" aria-haspopup=\"dialog\" aria-expanded=\"false\" onmousedown=\"event.stopPropagation()\" onmouseup=\"event.stopPropagation()\" data-c-id=\"72514935007\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img class=\"gnt_em_gl_i\" data-g-r=\"lazy\" data-gl-src=\"https:\/\/espacestudio.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Nyack-NY-pop-up-wedding-supports-charity-celebrates-love-week.jpg\" data-gl- decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"372\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The flat fee provides flowers, champagne, confetti, live music and an officiant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The small chapel has been staged by Nyack artist <a href=\"https:\/\/kristinaburns.com\/kris-burns\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kris Burns<\/a>, owner of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.festoononhudson.com\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Festoon-on-Hudson<\/a>, past honoree of the Arts Council of Rockland County Executive Arts Awards, and mover and shaker behind sundry other artistic efforts countywide.<\/p>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_m gnt_x gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\"\/>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Coordinating the effort is Wilmink, board president of <a href=\"https:\/\/theangelnyack.org\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Angel Nyack<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/theangelnyack.org\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">theangelnyack.org<\/a>, a newly formed nonprofit that has plans to transform First Reformed Church, smack in the middle of downtown, into a multi-use community space that will celebrate the arts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Both are part of the Nyack Wedding Collective, which recently received a Rockland County tourism grant to launch a promotion called &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/visitnyack.org\/rockland-weddings\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marry Me in Rockland<\/a>,&#8221; which highlights the county&#8217;s central location, natural surroundings and various venues.<\/p>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_m gnt_x gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\"\/>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Several officiants and photographers are available for the planned pop-up wedding dates, Feb. 10, 14 and 17.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">On Wednesday, Leslie and Joe Solan of Nyack tested out the chapel with a vow renewal ceremony after 27 years of marriage. The ceremony was officiated by Mikki Baloy with photographer Kellie Walsh documenting the ceremony.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"gnt_em gnt_em_anc\" id=\"gnt_atomsnc\" data-g-r=\"lazy\" data-gl-method=\"loadAnc\" aria-label=\"Newsletter signup form\"\/>\n<h2 class=\"gnt_ar_b_h2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_you_give\"><\/span>What you give<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Half the $2,500 goes to pay for supplies and workers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The balance \u2014 $1,250 \u2014 will be a donation to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.soupangels.com\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Soup Angels<\/a>, a nonprofit based at the church that provides hot meals and other supports, no questions asked. That part is tax-deductible for the couple.<\/p>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_m gnt_x gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\"\/>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Soup Angels, a non-denominational program, serves dinners from 5-6:15 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and accepts food donations from noon to 6 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.
