“The last few years have been quite incredible,” Mauboy told The Sunday Times in Perth.
“I’m looking forward to coming back and obviously Keith won’t be with us, but he’s been waiting to tour, too, and I think he’s been in his prime element of wanting to showcase all the stuff he’s been working on.
“It’s been lovely to work with him.
“He’s a really cool, chilled fella, and I’ve loved being in his company.”
The singer also detailed her recent marriage to her longtime partner, football player Themeli Magripilis.
The couple married in a small church in Darwin in July, with the reception at the Mindil Beach Casino Resort.
Magripilis proposed to Mauboy in 2019 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a delay for their wedding.
‘Long time coming’
“It’s been a long time coming,” Mauboy said.
“We always spoke about it (getting married) and we would talk about how strong our families are and they get along really well.
“I was always on edge of ‘I don’t know if this is gonna work’…
“I think it really helped that he didn’t know who I was, and we made a pact that we were going to create this relationship and keep it alive.
“He’s such a good fella and I think it really helps that he doesn’t work in the music industry.”
The newlyweds met in Darwin when they were both just 18.
After seven years of long-distance romance, Darwin-born Magripilis moved to Sydney in September 2016 to live with then-girlfriend Mauboy.
The couple often returns to Darwin to visit family when there are no work commitments.

The 33-year-old spoke on Sunrise in April about the wedding.
Mauboy said at the time they did not “have an actual set date, I’m just trying to suss out who’s in town – all the family particularly, obviously now everyone wants to travel”.
But asked by host Matt Shirvington about the potential size of the event, Mauboy was certain of one thing.
“I’m sure it will be a Darwin big family fest, because all my mob is up that way,” said the singer, who moved to Sydney after finding fame on Australian Idol, aged just 16.
Natalie Barr joked, “No micro-wedding for you.”
“It’ll be probably the sunset and the beach, you know,” Mauboy said.
