But asked by Sunrise fill-in host Matt Shirvington about the potential size of the event, Jess, 32, was certain of one thing.

“I’m sure it will be a Darwin big family fest, because all my mob is up that way,” said the singer, who moved to Sydney after finding fame on Australian Idol, aged just 16.

Sunrise host Natalie Barr joked, “No micro-wedding for you.”

“It’ll be probably the sunset and the beach, you know,” Jess said.

Jess has been flat out lately, wrapping up her Boss Lady tour and her time on Channel 7’s The Voice.

The Sunrise hosts expressed amazement at how she was juggling these commitments with planning a wedding.

Jess has been engaged to football player Themeli Magripilis, 32, since October 2019.

Also Darwin born, Themeli proposed to Jess in Greece, from where his family originates.

But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple has had setbacks landing on a date.

“You’re busy aren’t you? You’ve got a wedding to plan. When’s the big day?” Natalie asked Jess.

“Honestly I don’t have an actual set date, I’m just trying to suss out who’s in town – all the family particularly, obviously now everyone wants to travel,” Jess responded.

Jess is currently on TV screens as a coach on The Voice Australia alongside other celebrated singers Rita Ora, 31, Guy Sebastian, 40, and Keith Urban, 54.

She detailed the high emotions of being a coach, particularly hearing the backstories of the artists who audition.

“Obviously I wasn’t expecting … [tears] because you never know what kind of artist is going to come on, and their backstory.

“All of that definitely matters when they enter that stage and become vulnerable and share something that is so personal.

“So yeah, it was really magical, and to start the show so full-on, with such high vulnerability and emotions and just honesty from a lot of the artists.”

Jess said the emotional vulnerability is present in The Voice more than ever as the seasons go on.

“I think the more comfortable we all are as coaches as well, and seeing the passion that we all individually have for whatever artist comes on [the stage] and shares whatever they want to share, we just naturally gravitate towards that.”
