Micro-wedding venue in Forest works to relieve stress on the big day
FOREST, Va (WFXR) — The Vaughan House in Forest offers an intimate and low-stress wedding for couples looking to tie the knot.
The venue fits 50 people, and couples can get married inside the flourishing greenhouse with their closest friends and family.
The Vaughans worked in the wedding business prior to starting the venue, and say they began to notice trends of high stress in bigger weddings. Once the pandemic hit they began getting more and more business from couples looking to continue with their wedding on a smaller scale. They say this is what really jumpstarted their involvement in the micro-wedding world.
“Our goal is stressless as possible, because weddings are stressful anyway, especially if you’re planning a 1, 2, 3 hundred guest wedding. But the goal with ours in keeping it small is that stress is alleviated because it’s truly like your people that you have there with you,” said Megan Vaughan.
In addition, with inflation still weighing heavy on many people, the Vaughans say a smaller venue is another way to save some money. The Vaughan house offers several packages so couples can choose the best fit for them.
The venue operates from April until November each year, and the Vaughans say they had 68 weddings scheduled in 2022 alone.
