Just in time for Valentine’s Day, two Susquehanna Valley businesses are teaming up to give away a free wedding package.The lucky couple will get to have their ceremony at a one-of-a-kind location and hold their reception in a beautiful venue.The Buck in southern Lancaster County is known for its monster truck mud pit adventures.”Every event we do at the Buck, we’re trying to just make an experience of a lifetime for anybody,” said Zane Rettew, with Buck Motorsports Park.But this year, they’re taking it to a whole new level.”It is the great redneck wedding,” Rettew said.The Buck is partnering with one of its sponsors – the Barn of Nottingham – to give away a free wedding.The ceremony will take place at intermission during the season finale and knee-deep in the muck. “We’re going to take them into the mud pit. And we have an ordained minister, and he’s going to hitch ’em right here in front of thousands of people,” Rettew said.”It will be interesting to see them going out in that mud pit that’s probably 3 feet deep. And I’m sure it’s going to be maybe pull up the dress and high knees, but it’s going to be pretty muddy,” said Kate Price, with the Barn of Nottingham.The prize package includes using the wedding venue. If you’re hoping for a more traditional wedding ceremony, you can have that as well.”They can have one outside. It overlooks a pond. It’s a beautiful setting. You might have to put up with some mud to get that, but I think it would be worth it in the end, for sure,” Price said.They’ve already received dozens of applications. Picking one will be tough.”They don’t exactly have to be redneck. We just want to make sure that they’re a good couple that have history together, they come to the Buck,” Rettew said.After all, it’s about making memories – even if they are a bit muddy.”Honestly, whether you’re the couple that gets married here or you’re one of the spectators here that night, something is going to happen at the Buck that night that you will never forget,” Rettew said.Applications are due on Feb. 9. The winning couple will be announced on Valentine’s Day.The wedding is scheduled for Sept. 21 during the Playground of Power event at the Buck.The formal ceremony and reception are the next day at the Barn of Nottingham.
